Well we could've been wrong together. No sense in my ego being smashed all by itself.

I can relate. :sigh: Even after I PM'd this one guy to remind him (and bumped the thread for him), he didn't look at my pictures in the photography thread.

Weisinger retired right when GL/GA was hitting the stands, just as Kirby was about to exit Marvel.

So i'm going with Weisinger.

The correct answer was Conan the Barbarian was published.

Honorable mention to Jack Kirby leaving Marvel.

I've come up with a completely arbitrary standard.

Golden Age - 1940s-ish
Silver Age - 1960s-ish
Bronze Age - 1970s-ish
Dark Age - 1980s-ish
Image Age - 1990s-ish
Retro Fan Age - 2000s-ish
Digital Age - Now

I voted for the return of the horror comic being the end - once that happened, the code was on life support, since it had originally existed to stamp out that particular genre. To me, that was the beginning of the end of the 'age of innocence' represented by the silver age.

It was two events for me, the Death of GWen Stacey and the Adams/O'neal GA. That's when silver age comics became preachy and pompous, indulged the fans turned creators, and began to lose their magic. People started copying that bad formula (even though it was a sales failure from what I hear). And that's coming fro ma fan of both back then, especially their Batman run.
