A continuation of the Food Finds tradition started here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14720

Have you ever discovered a new type of food so good that you felt you needed to share it with the world?

That's how I feel about the pineapple flavored Chobani greek yogurt.
It is impossibly good. Like, I'd give up ice cream for the rest of my life and just eat this instead. And that's saying something, because I love me some ice cream.

Are there any other delicious foods lurking at the supermarket that I should know about?

I thought Li'l Jay was in charge of all food discovery threads.

I'll be watching this thread with interest.

Not only because of the inevitable showdown between Li'l Jay and HanLolol, but because I'm constantly surprised by the variety of American foods.

Hopefully, as this thread progresses, I'll discover the existence of chocolate flavoured soda or something. ;)

Really? I was under the impression that most food were biscuits and all drinks were cokes.

South of the Mason-Dixon Line, yes. And grits.

Is the Mason-Dixon Line like the Wallace Line of food or something?

My new favorite find is Barista Baking Co. Scones. Like cookie dough, you divide them and bake. I put mine in the toaster oven at 375 for 15 minutes and it is better than a bakery. They come in a variety of flavors, including chocolate chip, blueberry, and almond.

another food discovery - the bacon on Wendy's bacon cheeseburgers is really, really good. It's all thick cut and stuff. :yum:

Wow.

I never imagined that Han would become Li'l Jay's nemesis in such a way. It's an unexpected, yet satisfying, plot twist.

I've never liked frozen pizza until I tried this.

Kind of. It is the line that separates the sides from the American Civil War.

Kind of. It is the line that separates the sides from the American Civil War.

Kind of. It's the line that was surveyed to determine the southern border of Pennsylvania (and the border of Delaware)

It was considered the border between the Northeastern states and The South.

So did the meaning of the term shift slightly after the Civil War? Because the divide between North and South obviously extended well beyond Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Not that far beyond. Parts of Virginia (now West Virginia) poke up further north than the southern border of Pennsylvania). Maryland is pretty skinny between Virginia and Pennsylvania. And Maryland was a slave state that stayed in the Union (like Kentucky and Missouri).

The South goes pretty far north out east.

I had no idea that the South was so far-reaching in the northern hemisphere. ;)

Does this mean that no grits are served on the Non-Southern side of the Mason-Dixon Line?

I never ate grits until I went on a trip to Texas. Not in Texas itself, but in some restaurant in Oklahoma on the way.

We sold some brand of grits in our Minnesota grocery store, but as I recall the boxes were rather dusty. I don't think it sold very fast.

I had grits at a Denny's in Michigan just last night. And there are a box of grits in my cupboard.
But that may just be because I am partial to southern cooking. There definitely are Northerners that like and eat grits, though.

Rare to see spotted dick in the US.

We would sometimes pick up a can of grits when we went down to Florida for a friend because grits are hard indeed hard to find in the North.
