CBR just started this list. I'm actually amazed at how spot on it is thus far... but you know a few stinkers will sneak in there before it's all over.

No whiffs on that list yet, but I question how some of them can enter the list so low -- Spider-man letting the robber go by? At #61 ranking?

That is an immediate, iconic moment and visual image that encapsulates almost the entire "Marvel-ness" of the Marvel universe. The fatal flaw, the Achilles heel, the angst that a character carries with him. And it is the single most flagship character in the MU. And it's #61?

The upper list is going to disappoint… me. It really has to. It's going to be things like "Spidey's in a black costume, ooohh."

Well, there will be some truly important things, like Phoenix blasting herself on the moon.

That will probably be #1....top 5 for sure.

#2 will be the death of Gwen Stacy.

And it's not even the right moment from that issue. The key moment is after Uncle Ben's death, when Spider-Man catches the killer, sees his face, and realizes it was the same guy he'd let go earlier. That's the truly memorable, important moment from that issue. I'd like to hope that issue is so good they will include two moments from it, and the one I just cited will be in the top ten. But based on how these lists always go, I doubt it.

That moment will definitely appear higher in the list, IMO. I just think the robber running by in the hallway is one that immediately comes to mind when I think of big moments in Marvel history.

I imagine that might be number one on the list.

You guys are more optimistic than me. It strikes me as unlikely they'd include two moments from the same issue, regardless of how worthy. Hope I'm wrong.

The end of the Korvac Saga doesn't belong though. It's not even the most memorable Jim Shooter Avengers moment.
