Ed McGuinness, Alex Ross and Dan Jurgens but no Jerry Ordway? Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez only at #9? Frank Quitely at #5? No Al Plastino?
Epic fail.

Epic fail. You failed to mention the absence of Kurt Schaffenberger. This is why you fail.

I think he's good, but I don't know that Ordway's run was especially popular. The artists you list before him are all more popular and associated with Superman, IMO.

At least Curt Swan was #1. Wow. Pretty sloppy stuff by Newsarama. Also, could they have picked a less representative example for JGL?

Long run on World's Finest and a few back-up stories in Superman.

With mainly covers I think Adams defined the look of Superman outside of Curt Swan.

The correct answer is
1. Swan 2. Shuster 3. Adams 4. Plastino 5. Garcia-Lopez 6. Ordway 7. Byrne 8. Dillin 9. Quitely 10. Buckler (Like Adams he did a LOT of great covers with Superman and also some good work on the character in Superman vs. Shazam!, DC Comics Presents and World's Finest.)
97. McGuinness

Buckler is the Pabst Blue Ribbon of Superman artists.

Next to Swan, Jose Garcia-Lopez is probably my favorite. I'd try to get Al Plastino, Kurt Shaffenberger and Wayne Boring on my list. Gil Kane and Neal Adams would be there, and Joe Shuster, of course. I suppose I should add some post-Crisis guys... I'll pick Jerry Ordway and Dan Jurgens. Man, I wish Steve Rude had done a lot of Superman comics. He'd have been the man.
