Each a hundred times smarter than the original. Maybe the greatest Superman story of all time.



Have you ever wondered why Superman-Blue kept the red in his insignia? Was it required to maintain the uniqueness of the shield for copyright purposes? It always looked wrong to me in the story, even when I was little.

I think this is a fine imaginary story and everything, but the praise it and "The Death of Superman" get are a bit mystifying to me -- I don't even think these are the best imaginary stories from the Silver Age, much less the best Superman story of that era.

Not as a criticism, but out of genuine curiosity -- why do you feel this story in particular is so great?

It's fun.

It's the type of story that a fan turned pro would set in-continuity (with a horrific twist) instead of doing it as an enjoyable imaginary story.

I know they've done a couple small trades, but I wish they'd put out an Imaginary Stories of the Silver Age omnibus with all the Weisinger produced yarns.

Multiple volumes. There were so many imaginary stories, and nearly all of them were WANderful.

This might be the best of them all. Alternate costumes, Superman solves every problem on Earth, manages to marry both Lois and Lana, prefers staying with humanity on Earth and also moves back to Krypton.

Yeah, I thought the 'S' symbol should either be red/blue and blue/red, or red/red and blue/blue.
