If only we knew what a Batman comic would be like back in 1972...

I would kill for a dark, moody adaptation of Gotham By Gaslight. Still one of my 10 favorite Batman stories ever.

Never heard of Batman 1972. That looks awesome.

Red Son for me. Secret Identity is a close second.

It's not a real thing. Just something Francesco Francavilla did for his "Pulp Sunday" blog. I'd watch (or read) the hell out of it, though.

Golden age and Dark Knight Returns are good ones. Thought about Kingdom Come but thought it might be too busy.

How'd I forget DKR?

DKR is my number one. With Adam West as Batman of course.

I'm tempted to say Ellen Paige as Carrie, but she's already played a female sidekick in a superhero movie, albeit a somewhat obscure one. So then I said what about Chloƫ Grace Moretz? But then I realized that has the exact same problem, but with a much less obscure movie.

Really I don't think either of them are great choices. Carrie would be a tough casting job.

Take your time machine back to 1999, abduct Thora Birch off the set of American Beauty, and bring her back to the present.

An interesting thought, but what does it have to do with the subject?

BTW, Spider 2099 is a pretty underrated comic.

Yeah, the Peter David/Rick Leonardi run is a lot of fun.

I had an idea for a Batman Elseworlds story based in the late medieval period.
