From all accounts, a good guy - - and I enjoyed the shows he was in.

His work in The Odd Couple alone qualifies for immortality, and he did lots more besides. Rest in peace.

Yep...and I loved Quincey as a kid. This is sad news.

He was a great actor, and not just on The Odd Couple. You should see some of his work on The Twilight Zone. (Although I think his episode where he shot pool with the ghost of a Minnesota Fats-style pool shark would have been better if they kept the original ending, it doesn't diminish from Klugman's performance.) He was also good in the original Twelve Angry Men.

He will be missed.

Actually (!!!) I heard he was extraordinarily difficult to work with. Great actor nonetheless!

The thing I liked about Quincy (the show), is that it made sense for a medical examiner in a big city to get embroiled in murder mysteries with great frequency.

Now, the "police procedural" is commonplace, where the source of weekly murder mysteries is the forensic crime scene, or something that doesn't "add up" about the physical evidence. But it seems like before Quincy, it was mostly characters who just seemed to be around a lot of people that got murdered.

Ballsy to take a character like Oscar Madison that has already been defined for the world on stage and screen and to make it your own.

Goodbye, Oscar.

R.I.P., Jack. You will be missed.

You know, it happens sometimes that I thought the person already dead, and this week it's twice. I thought Durning was already dead too. Still, it's a shame. Two great character actors there, rest in peace.
