I really just don't like his own inking of himself. I'd like to see some of the guest inkers he's getting.

Imagine if he let Rubinstein ink some of his stuff for this? That would rock.

I said this in the other Neal Adams thread, but I honestly think his art on this is (leaving aside a couple of iffy panels I've seen) better than his stuff from the 60s and 70s. There seems to be more detail and the figures seem to be more dynamic.

He talks about that in the link. He has more time now to do those types of things.

I think the art is very good, but it isn't Neal, not the Neal I know anyway. I will buy it, but it won't be like going home again, not in the way it was when Kubert returned to Sgt Rock and Tor.

I wonder if Dick Giordano inked anything before he died. That would be AWESOME!!!

That was the other thing I wondered about. I didn't discover Adams until I was in my twenties, so I might be more open to his art being different than long-time fans would be.

I'll definitely pick this up. I'm not crazy about that cover but the rest of the art I've seen looks good. I'm betting this will be at the $3.99 price point though - if so, I'll wait a year for the softcover tpb. I don't mind doing that with out of continuity stuff.

Pass. Adams glory days are way behind him and this smells more like a Miller project than anything else. After 30 years, you really can't go home again.

I don't know why the caption says "Pencils Only". They are almost completely inked.

This story makes up a good 1/3 of the Neal Adams Omnibus I recently got. I'm a good chunk of the way into it and still have no idea what I'm reading.

Based on your posts here recently, it seems the only comics you do understand are Silver Age Superman and Donald Duck comics, both written for children...

It does feel that way, lately. But really, have you read this thing? It's a mess.

I have the trade for this -- it's good to look at for me. But I do have trouble understanding it. Needs more ducks.
