I'll still give it to Superman.Parts of the movie show their age,but it's still the trailblazer for the modern superhero movie,with the right balance of gravitas and fun.

I wanted to go Superman, but in retrospect the Smallville sequences seemed too rushed to me and Clark looked too old to be in high school.
The Phantom Zone was way cool tho.

I'll go with First Class because of the Mags/Shaw battle. I had low expectations for the movie and i was blown away.
Unbreakable,Batman Begins,and Iron Man are my other favorites.

 Chronicle is another movie that surprised me. I think modern superhero movies benefit from the fact that many actors play their roles completely straight. Gene Hackman and Jack Nicholson were fine , but can you imagine how those movies would have turned out, if those two actors had approached their roles with their usual intensity? (granted the scripts would have probably needed to be rewritten  )

Anybody who picks X-Men First Class as the best origin movie needs to look at the first issue of X-Men by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby to see why they are wrong. There are five obvious reasons why this movie shouldn't even be eligible for this poll.
