Far funnier than any Ashton Kutcher movie has the right to be. :P

I kinda liked it. I don't know, I thought it was much better than I thought it would be. Which gets it a 6 out of 10, not the highest praise, but I was expecting worse.

Wonder if they would put that on the poster "I was expecting worse"

For some reason, I have only seen this movie during the middle of the night, on one of my "insomnia nights." I drowse in the chair and drift in and out. It increases the weirdness factor.

The other movie in this category for me is Eyes Wide Shut. Never seen it in a fuly lucid state.

Actually, I've never seen it... just caught three seconds of it on TV.

My quote is actually my roommate's description of "Dude, Where's My Car?", which I always seem to walk into the room as he says it. My constant retort is "The Butterfly Effect."

Watch "The Machinist" next time.

I thought the Butterfly effect had something to do with LA Law.

Everytime Harry Hamlin uses hair-spray, Carrot Top makes another prop.

I saw this on "Special Director's Snooty Uppity I Hate the Studio Edition" DVD, so I have a question:

In the theatrical version,
Spoiler: show
did Evan time travel back to his body in utero, and kill himself?

I watched the it, then watched it with the director's commentary. Holy shit the guys who made that movie are so pretentious. They were very impressed with themselves for the most hackneyed attempts at foreshadowing and metaphor.

No way? Did that happen on the DVD?

That was the original ending, yes. I thought it was only included as a deleted scene; didn't know they integrated it into a director's cut.

Did they mention anything about Donnie Darko?

Oooh. That one is perfect. We rented it back in the early nineties, and I fell asleep while watching it. (The hour was not late, I was just tired). I kept drowsing and wondering what I was seeing (the dance scene with the strobe light and the tail). Then I had to rewind the next day to see the ending. To this day, I associate that movie with creepiness.

I wrote a short story once that was a sort of an unintentional rip off of it. My story (though written in 1995) was a lot like Butterfly Effect. This guy keeps willing himself back to Vietnam to try to prevent the death of his buddy, but he can't.

P.S. I had also seen Somewhere in Time. What a hack I am.

I had no interest in watching Butterfly Effect.

So, I just found a spoiler-heavy retelling of the movie online.

I bet I had a better time reading that than I would have watching it.

Spoiler: show
although and armless Aston Kutcher does sound pretty funny
:yay:
