Another pointless poll.How tiresome.

I voted Chevy Chase, but my dream team's Chase and Tina Fey.

1) Dennis Miller
2) Norm Macdonald
3) Tina Fey
4) Colin Quinn
5) Chevy Chase
6) Jimmy Fallon
7) Jane Curtin
8) Kevin Nealon

And I'd put Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers above Jimmy Fallon.

The SNL NewsBreak and Saturday Night News people (Rocket, Hall, Doyle Murray, Gross, Guest) I'd put above Jane Curtain.

Dennis Miller.

Norm is a strong second place thanks to his OJ jokes. Or so the Germans would have us believe!

Tina & Jimmy in third.

And Colin Quin and Kevin Nealon are tied for BURN IN HELL YOU UNFUNNY BASTARDS.

Hey, Cha-Cha, you don't need to check in with Pythia on the 7th to predict who I voted for. And I. Am. Outta here.

Jane Curtain was the perfect straight woman for others on the newscast. She might not have been the one making the joke, but she contributed to some of the biggest laughs for me, especially with Akroyd and Radner.

Dennis Miller by a mile. But I do have a soft spot in my heart for the human train wreck that was Norm MacDonald.

I remember liking Dennis Miller the best, but I also loved how Chevy Chase would close out with "I'm Chevy Chase and you're not."

Chevy Chase. At times his post-SNL career may have made people forget just how funny he was in the early days. I'm glad Community came along for him.

I do have to give props to Dennis Miller for being the first Weekend Update anchor after Chase to really make the segment his own. Unlike those before him, he was never trying to act like a real newsman (or like Chevy Chase...)

I still get a kick out of Jane Curtain, even if I don't get half of the topical 70's jokes--it strikes me that her haughty, perpetually disgusted, yet professionally chipper "Weekend Update" persona is highly reflective of many present-day news anchors.

I liked Dennis Miller at the time, but he's lost me in the years since, so I can't even enjoy his old stuff.

Norm FTW.

Carvey doing his Dennis Miller impression as he sat next to Miller on the news desk was gold.

How come Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd weren't among the choices? They were both co-anchors of WU back in the glory days of SNL.

I think I am going to have to go with Miller.

I would have liked to have seen Fey go it solo after Fallon left. Don't see why they felt the need to pair her up.
