I got you beat, mine is about 25 years old, and I'm younger. I've had the blasted thing since kinder.

It's the sound I hate more in all the Universe. It gets the job done.

My perfect alarm clock has recently started jumping ten to twenty minutes ahead in time for no discernible reason. This is disturbing. But it could be that it's the only clock in the house that is correctly tracking some time travel phenomenon that is fooling my other timepieces. I'll go with that explanation for now in the hopes that it leads me to discover some viable method of time travel.

For reasons I don't even understand, I want to see a picture of this thing.

At 25 I was a prime specimen of humanity. Women loved me, men wanted to be me.

25 years in gadget life is like a hundred in human years.

I have a clock radio that is twenty years old. I've never managed to find a newer model with an alarm as loud. It's white, but the plastic is still somewhat brown from when I used to smoke (I quit 10 1/2 years ago).

If my alarm clock starting going off 10-20 minutes early, I'd give it a damn good thrashing.

Well, if we're talking about clock radios, I do have one of those that has been going strong since 1986. I never use the alarm since I don't need it, but I do test the radio once in a while just to be sure it still works. I just use it as a clock.

I kept the box for years in case I had to pack it up when I moved. Each Christmas I'd wrap somebody's gift in it and then save the box afterward. It got so everybody wondered who would get The Box next.

The in-laws have an 8-track player with a nice loud radio wired up to some speakers in their garage. It has to be 30 years old.

And Rafael, that looks like a Space:1999 prop. Awesome.

My connection is only 10 Mbps. Doesn't G handle up to 50-something?

Bump.

19 net throughput, but you're going to have bandwidth issues with multiple devices.

Yeah, but real world performance is always lower. Somewhere in the 20-30 Mbps range.

It depends on several factors beside the raw speed if you want to upgrade. n's signal is stronger, so it depends on your house, too, if you want to upgrade. Also, of you do any kind of LAN streaming.

Really though, I stream Netflix and Hulu to multiple wireless devices throughout my home, few if any of which support wireless N technology (I don't believe even the newest Android devices like the Kindle Fire do...could be wrong?), and I have never had any problems. There is no real world reason to upgrade just for streaming video.

My alarm clock is a 'relaxation' one.

I only got it because it had other features i wanted, aka projection and Ipod dock.

It has all these 'relaxing' sounds for alarms, so you wake up 'relaxed and refreshed with these sounds taken directly from mother nature.''

Funny thing is, it's the best alarm clock I've had, because it's also the worst.

The 'relaxing' sounds are anything but. It literally scares you so you wake up.

The waterfall one is the best. It's like static noise turned up to max volume, as recorded in hell.

Do you use a lot of wifi? I had you pegged as hard-wired.

Keep up, Jeff! 802.11n is a bit of an old thing. Your Kindle has it, your venerable Nexus One has it, and I believe most Android devices (at least the better ones) have it.
