Still rocking the surround sound AIWA stereo from 1995. The CD player is screwed, the tray remains open all the time, but it still jams. I play CDs thru using either the Dreamcast, the DVD player or the Xbox.

Really?

Except for our laundry room, you can see a television from every room in our house. (We're not rich, every TV is an old style picture tube television.)

I ran cable and power from our attic to the bathroom towel cabinet, so that our old portable TV could sit on the shelf and be seen in the large wall mirror over the sink. So if you're shaving or in the tub, you can look in the mirror and see the TV in reverse. (And from the can.) And if the towel cabinet is closed, you don't know that we have an old TV in the bathroom.

We never buy a new TV until an old one can no longer be repaired. The problem is, I have an awesome TV repair guy in my neighborhood. And relatives tend to throw out their picture tube TVs because they'd rather buy a flatscreen for a couple of hundred instead of paying a hundred to repair the old one. My guy usually fixes them for forty, so I end up with an extra used TV now and then. As the kids move out of the house, they each take one, so we rarely have a true "extra" being unused. I don't know if we'll ever get a flatscreen. Maybe if the repair guy quits fixing picture tube sets.

I'm the kind of guy that would rather fix something for $50 instead of buying a new one for $100.

I have a Commodore Vic 20 from 1982 that I still use to play Poker on at least once a week.

My cell phone is a slider from Samsung that I think is a 2004/2005 model.

I have a VCR from the early 90's I use to watch the wrestling I taped in the 80's/90's.

I have a CD/cassette player from 1990 or so. The CD player doesn't work, but I still listen to the radio and play cassettes on it.

I have a CD Walkman from 2000.

My stereo tuner was bought in 1986.

But my stereo speakers were bought in 1969! My dad got them in Japan when he was overseas in Vietnam.

This is the stereo I took to college in 1991:

In 1993 the left channel of the amp died. Broke my heart.

It's been a few months now, but my Sega Genesis is still plugged in down by my AppleTV. The outputs aren't compatible anymore apparently, so about all I can do is play Monopoly in crappy black and white.

And I play music from my iPhone through the cassette player in my car.

Heh, that's like the jack on stereos that still reads "Phono" for phonograph. Anachronism.

Mine is about 20 years old, too. It is perfect.
