I enjoy the series......but Jack Staff is usually the character that has the least face time. :)

Heh, yeah, I dislike when Grist goes off on tangents with other cast members and forgets about Jack.

I just got Earth 2 #1 based on the positive reactions here.

I'm surprised so many liked it -- it seemed to be the painfully cliched "grim 'n gritty apocolyptic world" that all the previews promised. And hey, Batman shows what a mastermind he is -- "Let's blow up their portal's power source!" No one else on Earth would have though of that -- good one, Bruce.

I felt the same way, plus there was no reason to name it Earth 2. it was nothing like it, it was just another What If world.

Well, I think Earth 2 is a pretty handy way of titling a series about an alternate reality.

And if the classic version of Earth 2 doesn't yet exist in the New 52, it doesn't make sense to call this "Earth 37" or whatever it would be in the old alternate Earth numbering system.

Whoa whoa whoa, you want to call Classic Earth 2 "Earth 37"?

That sounds like a con.

They should call it "Earth 616" and watch Marvel fans get pissed off.

I would buy that just on principle.

It'd be pretty funny if DC had an Earth that was a parody of the MU. I'd definitely buy that. :ohyes:

No reason they shouldn't -- Marvel does have Squadron Supreme's and Supreme Power's alternate Earths, after all.

Just finished Batman: Time and the Batman. The art was dark and scratchy. Tony S! Daniels uses to many close ups. Storywise, I have no idea what I just read. They said it was mystery but no one solved anything. Batman and Darkseid? I still don't know what happened. Pretty obviously, this book was the end of a longer story line. Though, I think if I read the whole story, I still would have a tough time.

I'm starting Avengers: Fear Itself. I want to punch Bendis in the neck.

I'm not saying that, I'm just saying they should have a universe called "616." There's no way Marvel could copyright a number, right?

And normally I'd agree. When Morrison did his earth 2 book, I didn't complain because it was clearly nothing to do with the Earth 2 we know. But with the daughter of Batman, Powergirl etc. that's where i felt they went wrong naming it that.

I wonder how it will do sales wise.

I just finished the Avengers: Fear Itself HC. The only artist of the three in the book that can tell a clear story is Romita,jr. Bachalo and Deodato have cool styles but can't tell a story. The way Bendis wrote it was very disjointed and confusing at times.

DC did have a Marvel Earth called Angor. Don't know if it still exists. Loeb also did a Superman/Batman story that had an Earth with Marvel characters

And in the original Giffen JL those villains from the other world, the same Champions of Angor were used
