I've seen the first two and own the blu-ray of the ultimate, but haven't watched it yet, despite buying it on release day. It's just such a daunting task. I'm going to assume that the one that includes the Black Freighter stuff is the best one, despite not watching it.

I am going to watch it soon but would like to make it an "all in one sitting" thing, so it's tough to clear time for it... plus, I'd like to watch it with some friends. Maybe next week during my "guy's night" with my friends (we're doing UFC tonight).

I prefer the Director's Cut to the original, and have watched it repeatedly. (That's the version that was shown on the HBO channels as well).
I can't watch motion comics. I've tried, I just can't. I don't get the concept at all.

The Ultimate Cut has the animated Tales from the Black Freighter in it(I think), I still want to see that version...

I got the DVD of the Ultimate Version on sale for some ridiculous price ($5 or $10 I think) but never got around to watching, and now it's in storage.

I got it used for $13 a while back but never watched it. Then I looked for it recently and thought I had sold it, so I bought a new one from the mall for $20. Then I found the old one after opening the shrink wrap on the new one... so I decided to just send the older copy to Doot since he was talking about wanting to see it recently.

I haven't seen the ultimate cut, but was not crazy about the Black Freighter cartoon (even though I like it in the comics), so I would go with the Director's cut.

I'm not sure of the difference between theatrical and Director's cut. My blu-ray is Director's cut, but I just don't remember any differences.
I'm not down for the Ultimate thing at all. Sounds boring.

A lot of it is just extended scenes or minor additions, but the main difference is the murder of Nite Owl I. The Director's Cut is the way to go. The Ultimate Cut is just another painful reminder of the times Snyder missed the point.

The director's cut is best IMO. The Ultimate cut gives you a more complete adaptation of the story, but the transitions can be jarring. And, I didn't care that much for the look of the animation.

And tell me this -- was the exchange about the underground cheapo porn comics in the theater? Where Silk Spectre is looking at one and saying she's flattered by it? Seems like that wasn't in theatrical.

Seems like she referred to it as a "Tijuana Bible."

Yup, that was in the Theatrical.
It was a nice detail. Ok, I like Snyder's Watchmen again.

I'm not down for the Ultimate thing at all. Sounds boring. The main improvement is that the movie flows better. After watching the director's cut, you can see that Snyder had cut the original running time down by sacrificing transitions.

I think the Director's Cut has probably just replaced the theatrical in my mind. I saw it in the theater only once. I've watched the blu-ray probably 5 times, give or take. Also the cable version, whatever version that is. I have it on my hard drive so sometimes it's easy to cue up.
