Cartoon and live-action versions both count.

Easily Superman: TAS for me. While many of the others have their charm, none have gotten as much right as Timm and Dini.

Superman:TAS wins - despite the fact that they introduced the No S On The Cape look that has poisoned every incarnation since.

I'm a massive proponent of the yellow "S" on Supey's cape. I now feel Ross' "helmet" pain.

Did the Brandon Routh version have a yellow "S" on the cape?

I'll go with "Smallville." I cannot defend my choice.

Last year I dug in and dedicated to watching every episode of Smallville. I had only caught a couple here and there. It took me a handful of months, but I got caught up in time to see the finale, live.
Personally, that version of superman's origin has become my favorite. They explained so much in such an honest and faithful way. personally, I like their reason for why Clark ended up becoming the disguise and Superman is the real person. In the end, it made more sense than any other TV Superman. I liked the Clark and Lex history and how he was such a sympathetic guy who you ended up having to hate. Smallville has my favorite Lois Lane ever. And, in the end, Smallville can be worked into any Superman myth.

Yeah, they can create realistic dinosaurs, space ships, the Incredible Hulk with CGI -- but a cape with an "S" design? IMPOSSIBLE.

They can't even animate it, you think they could do it with CGI? What are they, Wizards? That tech is at least a decade away.

Smallville brings the mythology of Superman and the tween drama of Twilight into one sexy package.
