This is quite literally the best comic I have read in the last couple of years.
It's by John Rogers and Andrea Divito. The dialog is snappy and well crafted. The action is almost non-stop. The plots are deep and intriguing. The art is beautiful.

If you like or ever played D&D you absolutely must read it. If you have any level of interest in fantasy you must read it. If you are not interested in fantasy still give it a shot.

The first issue (0) is free on Comixology, and the other 14 are only $1.99. Best $28 I have spent in a while. The issues are compressed enough that you feel you have gotten more than you $2 worth.

I forgot to mention that the lead character is like a cross between Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes.

(P.S. I loved that ad from comics in the 80's. I always wondered how that ended. I believe there was a third installment that Judge has failed to include.)

What I found interesting about the above link - I didn't realize Bully wore overalls, especially when he was headed out to play D&D with all his friends.

I believe that some of the Dungeons & Dragons artwork is by Fables scribe Bill Willingham.

It looks like the art of a guy who ended up as a writer.

Though I'd never be the one to write it (too lazy), I always figured a good main character for a D&D series would be part Sherlock Holmes. The trouble, of course, is magic of a divination nature. Mysteries aren't that impressive when you can ring up God (or some such) and just ask, or when they come from knowing details of a fantasy culture the audience has little hope of knowing. The save there might be that magic is very expensive, so relying on it is something they'd rather not do or they'd use only as a last resort, so old-fashion brain power, observation and deduction, still lays the ground work for whatever adventure they are on.
