Too expensive for now, but this is the future. If a New Gods movie were made, I wouldn't blame Apple for paying to have this thing product-placed and cast as the Mother Box — and I wouldn't blame Warner Brothers for doing it!

I gotta admit, I thought I'd grown too wise and sophistimacated to fall prey to Steve Jobs' evangelical product unveilings. But WOW am I geeking on the iPhone today. What other companies are ever so determined to GET IT RIGHT with such an awesomely flawlessly conceived and designed piece of personal tech?

Apple's goal is not to get it right. Apple's goal is to get it perfect.

It was just a matter of time. I think it's a fantastic idea and should be a fantastic product.

$499, with a two-year phone service contract. Which really makes it a market competitor for the Blackberry and the Palm/Treo for the moment.

For now, I'm happy with my Sony Ericcson W810i with 4 Gigs for $99 Cdn BUT when I'm ready to renew and upgrade my phone in 2 years? That's gonna be a tasty Apple fer sure (assuming the price is right).

I think the 50 Gb iTV thingamabob sounded pretty cool too. http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/12/hand ... prototype/

Looks cool, but there's no way I'd personally commit to one at that price. My phone goes through too much wear and tear between the hours of midnight and 3 a.m.

I can't hear you because the phone sex in my pants is really quite out-of-control at the moment. :drunk: It's that time of night, what can I say.

I've been waiting for someone to get a convergance device right. The price isn't too bad compared to a Treo or something like that.

Sweet little gadget. I'm looking forward to the touchscreen interface making its way to the next generation of iPods.

Apple devotees scare me. It's cult like, and they take it so personally :)

That I might buy.

iPhone is awesome and I'd love to own it, but it's too expensive, and since I don't need a cell phone and iPod with touchscreen and such would be just as good.

It is nearly here. I've basically ignored cell phones, iPods and related gadgets. So something that handles all that at the same time is just something else I have no plans to buy. I hope this thing doesn't tank. Mostly so I don't have to put up with weeks and weeks of news stories talking about it. The hype machine giveth and the hype machine taketh away.

If the hype is correct (and I have no reason to think Apple will screw this up), this lettle gadget will change everything! It is awfully purdy.
