Wal-Mart's Great Value brand cheese spoils quickly no matter what expiration date is stamped on the package.

Kraft American Cheese has become too flavourful in recent recipes, and it overpowers the burgers and sandwiches in which it's supposed to serve as an enhancement, not as the central point of the dish.

Borden American Cheese is just right.

Land O Lakes American remains the prime cheese, at least around here.
We buy the Kraft non-wrapped American singles though, it's not bad, and a buck a pound cheaper.

Why use American cheese when cheddar is so much better?

Tell me more about Land O'Lakes cheese. I've never tried that.

Everything they say here is true. Don't buy the self-service presliced though, it has to be the loaf fresh sliced in the deli.

Quote:
LAND O LAKES is the largest brand of Deli cheese in the United States - almost half of all American cheese sold in the Deli is ours! People who know cheese will tell you that
LAND O LAKES® Cheese is the richest, creamiest cheese, hands down. Ask for our delicious cheese at the Deli Counter or pick it up nearby in the self service section.

Being an American and all, I don't get where that is coming from.

The best cheese is made in Wisconsin, right in the US. Eurocheese can only dream of achieving these heights. :)

Land o Lakes is the best cheese. It's the best Deli cheese. It's also the best pre-packaged.

The one thing i know of is American cheese. I eat that shit all the time.

Recently, I had a big argument with someone who said it is not cheese.

Well sorry suckers, it is. The US Courts have declared it legally cheese!

I knew my legal education would pan out.

and who cares anyway. It tastes so damn good.

It's a specific kind of cheese. It's called "processed cheese" in Canada ... possibly in the UK as well? It's the cheese you put on a cheeseburger. Here it's just called American Cheese.

I've never been a big fan of American cheese. Now, extra sharp cheddar cheese & pepper jack cheese.... :yum:

We got a multi-million dollar ad campaign with real California cows that says you're wrong.

I find "American cheese" quite disgusting.

Some of the other cheeses mentioned in this thread, however, are good eatin'. I dig on the bleu cheese and the extra sharp cheddar and the pepperjack and the swiss and...

...well, you get the idea.

Oh yeah, bleu cheese.

Moldy cheese, good eating!

Bleu cheese is excellent.

Lately, I've started enjoying Greek salads with feta cheese at a little pizza joint my co-workers and I frequent.
