Inspired by Flamebait's thread, I thought we should have a Best of 2011 for lame people like me that don't watch a lot of new TV shows, or read a lot of new books, or listen to a lot of new music, or see a lot of new movies.
What things did you re-discover, OR, just discover for the first time in 2011?
For me:
Best Movie I saw in 2011 (Sci Fi): Gattaca Best Movie I saw in 2011 (Comedy): Forgetting Sarah Marshall Best TV Series I saw in 2011: X-Files/Twilight Zone Best Book I read in 2011: Mama Day by Gloria Naylow

Due Date was really funny. I didn't see it until a couple of months ago.

Due Date was an odd combination of very cynical, subversive irreverence with a sentimental tug at the heart strings.
I guess I just really liked RDJR. His character was so fascinating, as he goes from emotionally distant to a sense of bonding with Zach's character. His words and facial expressions were just spot on entertaining. When you combine that with the fact that I find Zach in inherently funny human being, the movie was good.

Can I just watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles again?

"Iron Man" was pretty cool. "Iron Man 2" was all right.

Ross wrote: Plus, he punches that kid. Best part of the movie. I'm with Jay here -- this movie lacks the guffaws and balls out hilarity that was The Hangover but it made up for it with heart and interesting characters you come to care about. But for me, Philips' best movie is still Old School.

I want to add another question to my original query... what things did you see this year that you felt were worthy of re-watching, or buying to own?
My two most re-watched things this year: Futurama (all 5 seasons) and Die Hard.

hmmm. Perhaps. My avatar is still slightly better though, as it combines three awesome things: Han Solo, Bob Ross, and Christmas.

I dispute your claim. Mine has Darth Vader, Han Solo, Chewbacca and lightsabers -- four uber-awesome things.

My two most re-watched things this year: Futurama (all 5 seasons) and Die Hard. Mine would be Community and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

We've been enjoying the Alias series (or at least the first two seasons), though Diana likes it more than me.
