Probably gonna pass on this one, although I really like the tagline: "Even gods need a hero." That is very nice.

The tag line looks to be the best thing about it, to me.

Immortals Movie Review:

Best movie of the year for me. Simply beautiful to look at ,incredible action sequences, a new and wonderful interpretation of the Minotaur, Titans and Greek Gods, as well as a great leading man and villain played by Henry Cavill and Mickey Rourke respectively. Freida Pinto is easy on the eyes and the costume design alone will win an Academy award if their is any justice. The score was also well done and the brutality of the Gods and Titans fighting in 3D at the end makes me want to go back and watch this film again today. Immortals is a better film than 300 for me, better cinematography, costumes, fight sequences, gore, and a depiction of Gods and Titans that have never been seen on screen. Watch Clash of the Titans to see a cheeseball version of Gods and Titans...Yes the 'Beast/Minotaur" was not a true creature like in the myth and the story of Theseus was completely changed...but who gives a fcuk...Mickey Rourke should be nominated for best supporting actor and this film I think will win Costume, Art Direction, Sound and possibly Special Effects.

I saw this last week; kept my expectations low: it was excellent, very entertaining. Really loved the visual sensibility of the film: every scene was gorgeously composed -- lots of rich colours, mood, tone and atmosphere. This film reminded me of the sword and sandal fantasy films I saw on TV as a child: bizarre, exotic and portentous. Great performances by the principal actors. Go see.

I absolutely hated The Cell by Tarsem. Is this movie better than that?

Much better. Go see it in the theatre and I think you will be very happy you did. If you liked 300, Gladiator, Braveheart etc this movie will appeal...

Well, I have not seen it without 3D, so I can't say.

It has been described in one review as the best looking film of the year. Always did like sword n sandal flicks when I was a kid.

I'm going to get it on Blu Ray.
