I'm still trying to figure out why he talks with a British accent in the upcoming film
After Earth .
VIDEO The title is referring to this opening clip from
Exam with Colin Salmon as the man Will Smith is apparently trying to be.

I don't get British when I hear Will Smith in that trailer. I get "Southeastern United States". Almost a South Carolina accent. Now I want to see that Exam movie, though.

Maybe he's trying to show some range?

After Earth is getting scathing reviews. Seems that it's deathly boring and the accents are ridiculous.

Well, it does resemble a pail of garbage.

MNS can't claim all the glory on this one. Btw, that's supposed to be a British accent?

At least it's not Scottish.

The only positive effect of “After Earth” is that it has improved the reputation of “Wild, Wild West,” previously the worst movie of Smith’s career.

Sounds almost like they wanted this movie to suck.

Maybe it's like a Springtime for Hitler kind of thing. Hope this doesn't also bring down Peter David's career. He wrote the novelization.

http://www.startribune.com/entertainmen ... 17811.html Aw snap!
The same reviewer said that Lawrence Fishbourne could have played the part better. Didn't I one describe Colin Salmon in another thread as the British Lawrence Fishbourne?
When it comes to bad reviews, this is a classic. If this guy is as good in front of the camera, we've got half of the next "Siskel & Ebert" show cast.
