Leonard Nimoy is the best person who has ever lived. There, I said it.
This post contains all the wisdom of why I loved Star Trek, but also why I felt estranged from wider Trek fandom.
I don't care a lick for the New Generation, because it was never the "universe" of Star Trek that I thought was that special. It was Spock. And Kirk. And Spock and Kirk. Kirk and Spock. Vulcan and human. Scenery chewer and stoic.
And without Nimoy, Spock as we know him would not exist.
His performance was the character, one of the most memorable of all time. Nimoy's talent is an all time great.
In all the best adventures, Spock was James Bond and Sherlock Holmes combined. Kirk was the one man who could lead him and change his way of thinking.
It was almost a disservice to Spock (to me) to carry on as if the "universe" of Trek was the appeal.
Anyway, nice car.
