He is the first name to be added to the cast for the film, shooting for which is scheduled to begin in May

Hauer will also play the lead in this year's Hobo With A Shotgun, the second of the fake trailers from 2007's Grindhouse to be turned into a feature film. The first was Robert Rodriguez's Machete, released last year.

He has previously starred in Ridley Scott's Blade Runner and appeared in Batman Begins. He also appears in exorcist drama The Rite, which is in cinemas now.

Argento doing 3-D? Could be good, we haven't seen much by him lately...

They forgot to mention Sin City in Hauer's film bio. :wink:

I was hooked on Rutger Hauer the first time I saw him in Nighthawks. One of the best portrayals of a villain that I have ever seen. I'll definitely see this film.
