I found this out on FB Ian was telling a story and I made a kind of shocked squealing noise and then actually got kind of teary about it. I don't think I've ever got quite that emotional about the death of someone from t.v. before. I feel like a piece of my childhood has died I guess. That character has been one of my most loved since I was about 7. He ranked high, if not the highest on my daydream list of celebs I would actually be really really excited to ever get to meet. I've heard he was a really personable nice celebrity to meet too. The pictures of him on the article I read, make him remind me a bit of my grandad.

Yeah. By all accounts he was a splendid fellow. It certainly came through onscreen in the character. How could anyone not love the Brig?

I was hoping the Brigadier would meet one more Doctor, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. RIP.
