Colts 7-1 favorite to win championship
Associated Press
One bad pass by Peyton Manning hasn't cost the Indianapolis Colts any cachet.
Manning and the Colts are favored to win next year's Super Bowl, according to odds released Monday by BetUS.com.
Indianapolis is a 7-1 favorite to take home the NFL championship, followed by the San Diego Chargers (8-1), New Orleans Saints (9-1) and the New England Patriots (10-1).
The St. Louis Rams, coming off a 1-15 season, are the longest shot on the board at 150-1.
The Colts were 5-point favorites in the Super Bowl on Sunday, but Drew Brees and the Saints rallied for a 31-17 victory. New Orleans sealed the upset when Tracy Porter intercepted Manning's pass and returned it for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
Indianapolis is 3-1 to get back to the Super Bowl, while New Orleans is 5-1.

I've called this the Vast Wasteland for years. (When I was a basketball fan, it was shorter: from June until September.) For those one-sport fans, there really is nothing in the offseason. Though I could see myself getting into soccer. When's the World Cup start again? At least it'll be all over Irish TV.

I have such high hopes for the Jets next season, I also can't wait for September. Its nice to have a team that can compete with the best of the NFL finally. That #1 D can actually only get better (they need to get a real pass rush and not rely on stunts all the time).
Also the new Giants/ Jets stadium will open.

As for other sports, NHL is still going on and the Pens(as long as they don't tank) should continue to play through the Playoffs! As for the Eli/Peyton mixup, sorry, I've had a few beers at a few Superbowl parties...

I'm surprised the New York media are already calling it "Giants Stadium." You'd think that since the Jets are paying for half, they have the clout to have the stadium named something neutral for both teams.
According to Wikipedia, the official name (so far) is "Meadowlands Stadium." I'm expecting that to change as soon as a non-controversial sponsor is found.

I'm not. The Giants are the main football team in New York, The Jets are more like the Giants' little brother.
