I was always impressed with his ability to integrate the pop/rock themes into his scores, and to help the theme writers make their tunes more cinematic. When I saw Duran Duran a year and a half ago, they started their encore with Simon coming onstage in a white dinner jacket, and they did A View To A Kill. It was absolutely majestic. Owing largely to John Barry's co-write.
