I was reminded while watching The Crow tonight how much that movie didn't need a sequel. Along with Highlander, the story was told and finished in one movie. What other movies do you feel didn't NEED a sequel, but got one anyway?

I second The Crow and Highlander, and submit The Matrix.

Agree about the Matrix. The first Pirates of the Caribbean stands strong on its own and didn't need sequels. I liked the second one and didn't mind revisiting the characters with more story, but they were a serious downgrade from the first, nearly perfect film.

Halloween, or possibly Halloween II. My opinion of the fourth movie is: The makers did an okay movie, not bad nor very good, but there was no point of telling a continuation of the story in the first place.
Terminator 2
Cube
Blues Brothers
Psycho. Same opinion as Halloween 4 (although it's probably been 10 years since I watched Psycho 2)
Aliens

That is completely wrong! This movie definitely didn't need a sequel, I bet Eastwood wasn't even in it. :ohno:

He wasn't. Michael Parks directed and starred.
