I would have loved it if that van had appeared in my sleepy little town.

That's adorable. I like 7T's Wonda Woman and Supaman there. :) Guess it never made it out of the test market stage, huh?

I had never heard of that before! Would have been interesting to have seen it some time.

I have seen the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile (or whatever they call it), and a very good replica of the Mystery Machine.

I remember reading about it. Never saw it. Of course I never saw it.
Why would it show up in a tiny 3-horse town in southern Minnesota?

I was just reading the Teen Titans companion by Twomorroes publishing and they have an interview with Bob Rozakis (answer man!) and he talked about how one of his first jobs for DC was driving the comicmobile - it had a decent success rate as people were requesting different comics as he rode into town (lots of kids thought it was an ice cream truck and would leave dissapointed) but never really caught on as well as they would have liked.

It basically ended when the comicmobile was plowed into by a truck..true story! They never bothered to reinvest in a new one (can you imagine all those comics scattered all over the highway?).

That truck was driven by a young boy with a love for all things Marvel... he would grow up to be known as Monk, but then he was only little Matthew Linton.

... And now you know.... the rest of the story. Good day.

Me too. Between the daily ice cream truck and that, I would have been in heaven.

One of those programs that DC used to torture their fanbase. Sort of like the DC Hotline, which was always overloaded with calls and was rarely accessible.

By the way, the character decals on the side of the comicmobile are the same that were sold through mail-order ads in the comics. I had those on my closet doors. They were amazingly cool.

One mistake was having the vehicle manned by Sarah Silverman and John C. Reilly.

The last time I accessed it, I got a message saying that due to the overwhelming number of calls, the DC Hotline was no longer in service.
