The Gotham Library has a gym?

Only the "deserted interior" of it. Where Kingpin works out, apparently.

And if so, why not?

My library doesn't have a gym, but it does have a big, fat, lethargic bald guy that hangs out in the shadows.

(And that guy is me.)

Don't know of any libraries that have gyms, but ours hosts women's exercise classes in our community room every week. Some libraries let people exercise with Wiis in theirs.

Some big facilities have regular warrens of rooms that most people don't know about. I could almost believe that an enterprising librarian with the right kind of access could manage to set up her own workout room without everybody else knowing about it!

There are in fact male children's librarians, and they do get funny looks. Just recently I heard one tell how he was cornered in a grocery store in his town by a man who demanded to know how he knew the man's little girl. Then the guy found out he was the children's librarian who had been reading stories to her class.

Heh. Nice one.

Obviously Barbara is the director of her library--she'd never have risked having Ho battle B & R in the library if she didn't have staff members she could order to clean up the place the next morning. That's what I did after the last brawl at our library! Of course my staff was so small I still had to pitch in anyway.

This is the bit that made me laugh the most...

The trouble with modern DC is that nowadays, instead of being a secluded gymnasium, this would be a secluded S&M room where Batman and Batgirl would....well, you get the idea.
