I just watched the pilot for this show on Hulu, and was pretty impressed. The action sequences were tremendous and Mark Valley is an engaging lead. The supporting characters are pretty good as well, especially Jackie Earle Haley as Guerrero. The most notable change from the comics is that instead of Christopher Chance disguising himself as the potential victim (which is easy for comics, but quite problematical in live action), he goes in undercover as someone close to them. While the murder plot in the first episode isn't the most original, it does carry out a couple of interesting twists, and Tricia Helfer does a really good job as this week's "target." All of that, plus a nice little cameo by at the end made for an excellent pilot. I'll be tuning in for the next episode.

I really enjoyed it as well. I thought Hayley stole the show.

I watched it last night. Very entertaining; I added the series to our DVR and will watch it regularly. This of course guarantees it will die a swift death.

As I said somewhere else here, I am okay with him not becoming the person under assasination, since the spirit of the idea is there. I like the Rorschachiness of Guerrero. I am not sure I like the "no money" thing. I mean, it's a cute gimmick, but it is way to easy to pay people money without being detected.

Finally watched the second episode this evening. Excellent story; looked formulaic at first, but then some twists took it in some unexpected directions. I liked how it began in the middle of the action, then flashed back to show how things got there. (Which is a little ironic, since I hated this technique in John Byrne's comics, but it was used very effectively here.) I also reallyt like the hints that Chance has a dark past and that he's looking for some sort of redemption; however, I hope the details of it are never explained. Really looking forward to the next episode!

Five episodes in now, and I'm loving this show. The characters are well-defined, the stories are engaging, and the action sequences are awesome, perhaps the best I've ever seen for a weekly TV series. Best of all, I like that each episode stands alone. There are occasional hints to Chance's mysterious past, but each episode is "done-in-one." I do enjoy shows that have arcs or long-term storylines, but I didn't realize how much I missed a good action-adventure show where it didn't really matter if I missed an episode.

I found the first ep waaay too formulaic and plain, despite Haley's awesome role and Tricia Helfer's mesmerizing presence.
However, I'm giving it a second chance tonight.

Anybody pick up the first issue of the new HT comic? Written by Len Wein, but in the continuity of the new show.
