Are you a completist for any comic book creators? If so, who? If not, where do you personally draw the lines when amassing a collection of your favourites' work?

I'm only posting in this thread because it wouldn't be complete without input from all IMWANkers.

I'm not. I read only what grabs my attention. Granted, the creator on a book has a tendency to grab that attention if it's someone I've enjoyed in the past, but that only applies if I'm even remotely interested in the characters they're working on. Just because I enjoy, say, Adam Hughes's work doesn't mean I'd pick up an Adam Hughes Namor run, for instance. The flipside also goes -- I loved the hell out of the Wolfman/Pérez New Teen Titans back in the day, but once that team was no longer on the book I didn't stick around very long.

I tend to be. Especially for writers. I will start getting all their stuff up to a point. That point being when I read something I don't like.
For Instance, I have read pretty much all Robert Kirkman, But didn't like Battle Pope, so didn't continue to pursue that stuff.
Other writers I have tried to amass all they have written. Brian K Vaughn, Bendis!, Johns, Chuck Dixon-Though not a fan of his military stuff, I am positive there are many other writers I have done this,
I have never felt the need to track down an artist though.

I used to be for Byrne, but we all know how that turned out. Also, I haven't cared so much for the licensed properties.
I used to be for Perez at one point, too, seeking out lesser known titles like I-Bots and Crimson Plague.
At this point, I'm just keeping stories I like, even if it means busting up a run.

I'm a completist for runs and trade sets. I won't collect everything Iron Man or bob Layton, but I have collected all of his Iron Man run.

For example, I've recently been collecting Kirby and Ditko's 1960s-1970s DC work (I already have their Marvel work in trade form.).

Not since I moved out of the house, LOL
But I can see it one day. If you count trades? I have all of Gerber's Marvel stuff, except for the last ten Man-Thing's, Guardians of the Galaxy and his horror stuff.
Gerber, on the other hand, left his entire collection on the side of the road when he left New York. Imagine.

Yep, big time. If it's an artist I like, I buy 'em all. So, I have complete runs of Byrne, Adams, Perez, Windsor Smith, Jim Lee, Dave Stevens, just to name a few. I don't follow comic book writers the same way, with the possible exception of Gaiman, as I find the art is more important to my enjoyment of the story generally. I would rather read a crappy comic with great art than a great story with crappy art.
Sadly, I'm also a completist with music, which means my collection is littered with a lot of good stuff and a lot of stuff I'll never play again...

I liked to skip storylines and issues that I don't like (they never happened if I dont have them in my collection!) - shitty fill in issues, arcs I don't enjoy, etc..
Certain creators get an automatic chance with me: anything by Ellis, Ennis, Azzarello, Diggle, Brubaker, Moore, Millar and Miller get a try for at least an issue or two no matter what the title or genre..they have earned my loyalty but they do not always click with me.

I follow writers I like first and artists second, but I don't buy books for the sake of completion. The creative will get me to look at a title, but if it doesn't grab me, I'll pass.

When I used to hang around on other message boards I remember the X-fans complaining about how terribly they hated this or that writer. But they dutifully bought each and every issue all the same. I wasn't just them I'm sure, but I got the impression that X-fans had something of a reputation as completists.
