I'm looking at these things more and more these days. My driving habits have changed drastically since I moved to La Crosse, WI and a smaller car now seems much more advantagous. These newer Fiestas look like a lot of fun and they start at around $13,000 for a new one. Anyone have one?

2011 models are available now in the US... but as sedans only. :(

I wanna see someone turn one of these into a Batmobile.

There's already been a Smart Car Batmobile.

I've been studying this car all day. I have found almost no negative remarks about it online that aren't simply attributed to the car's class. Can you tell me why they are an abomination?

I have been looking at it for the last 18 months or so.
My last two cars have been Ford Focuses (Foci?), a 3-door hatchback, and a slightly
larger 5-door hatchback. Sadly, in 2008, they discontinued the hatchback Focus.
So, I was looking at the Fiesta hatchback (the European version) as a possible replacement.
I signed up long ago at Ford to have them send me information about the US release. I
participated in their build-a-Fiesta online site, and voted on colors and features. Oddly enough,
it seems like they ignored the results of those. Orange, for example, was a color that was
getting a lot of votes, and yet when they started showing the upcoming models available in the
US, orange ones were no where to be seen

I'm not completely happy with what I've seen of the Fiesta, but I will give it a test drive to see
if it is close-enough to a Focus hatchback for my tastes.

I haven't looked at the dimensions for quite awhile, but, as I recall, it was
considerable smaller than my Ford Focus. One of my favorite things about
the Focus was that I could sit in it, and my head wasn't all that close to the
ceiling. I suspect that will not be the case with the Feista.

I kind of wish that they had come up with a new "F" name, too, instead of
recycling the old Fiesta brand.

I take it this is the Ford Escort of the 21st century?

We owned a couple of Escorts as newlyweds. We drove them to their graves.

The Ford Escort line was basically replaced by the Focus. The Fiesta left US markets years ago, but had great success in Europe as a city car. They brought it back to the US, but my big thing is that the 3-door coupe version of Europe is not an option in the US... in the US, we just have 4 doors. My current car's backseat I almost never use, so I was particularly interested in a 3-door anyway. (And just where is this "third door?")

I agree, but then, they're not exactly making cars like that anymore, are they? I was looking at the Fiesta as a short-trip, driving in-town car... as I don't really drive long trips anymore.

That Ford Fiesta is cute but it would be a tiny rolling death trap where I live. They might as well just put handles on it so that one can use it as a coffin also. Hell no.

I looked into that. The thing's got 7 air bags. Truthfully, is this thing any different than a Volkswagon Beetle?

I hear ya on orange. I'm kinda partial to the yellow and I absolutely HATE the lime green. It seems as though the Fiesta is trying to attract girls more than guys with their color offerings. One more reason for me to wait and see what the 2012 models look like. Another reason to wait is that I also don't like the red LCD displays. I'd prefer a color like blue or green. Red makes me think of those old digital alarm clocks I grew up with.

Don't know if that's the car for me, but I defintely want to get something about that size with that kind of mileage. I'm tired of spending a fortune feeding a vehicle that's far bigger than I need and puts out more emissions than I want.
