"Bellflower" is a fan film apparently started around 2007 by some folks in Melbourne, Australia. I haven't found much about it beyond the clips and images below. Apparently, the "show" centers around the three-man crew of a Sandfly class transport equipped with the infamous Capisan 38 engine that Serenity's Kaylee warned Simon about in the "Serenity" film. The captain's a hot Australian gal.

This first trailer has primarily footage from the Joss Whedon show/film.

The second trailer has more of the Bellflower and her small crew.

Evidently, the Bellflower is a smaller vessel made by the same manufacturer as the Firefly class transport ships. It's interesting that this ship has retractable engines, unlike Serenity... which kind of reminds me of the "variable geometry nacelles" that the USS Voyager had on "Star Trek: Voyager."

I like some of the choices they made in designing the Firefly class's little sister ship here. Choices like one shuttle instead of two, the placement of which would seem to preclude the presence of a dining area like the one on the Firefly class. The cargo area and the big engine thingy look basically just like the corresponding parts on the "Firefly" ship, and would seem to be the same size. The bridge only has one pilot station, as opposed to Serenity, which had two. (Only one was used most of the time though.)
