I recently put together a pitch for IDW since they have the license for producing Doctor Who comics. Being a huge DW fan as well as a huge fan of the classic Hartnell adventure The Dalek Master Plan, I did some visual research and put together a six page pitch and sent it off to them. what follows is the first 6 pages of Episode One: "The Nightmare Begins" and then a shot of some of the redesigns I did for the Evil Galactic council, not having the 1965 BBC TV budget restrains. It probably would have been a 5 or six issue series with an advance "1/2 issue" a few months before, "Mission to the Unknown" and Who fans would recognize the significance there.

IDW passed, saying they were full up with projects and can't take anymore so, I figured I'd share anywhere and everywhere there were Who fans so at least *somebody* sees them.

Thanks, I don't know what the thinking process was, really. Maybe they don't have the rights to do Daleks, maybe they just didn't like it, who knows but it certainly wasn't going to be a drain on *their* resources as far as man hours.

It was brought to my attention by an informed source that since they've got the license, it behooves them to put as much Doctor Who out there as possible while they do. I figured I'd have a shot. Maybe because I'm not British...?

Given that being British sometimes seems to be one of the necessary criteria for writing even the mainstream AMERICAN comic superheroes, could be!
