It appears that the Image title which was going to be "Guardians of the Globe" has been changed to "Guarding the Globe."

They say it was to avoid copyright infringement. Just a hunch, but I think DC didn't like the closeness in name to their Global Guardians

That's what I'm thinking. It sounds a lot like the whole "You can't call a Billy Batson comic book 'Captain Marvel' but you can call it 'Shazam'" sort of situation.

I figured Marvels 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'.

Hmmm yours does sound closer, but aren't the Global Guardians all D-listers who don't have/aren't likely to get their own book? Or am I thinking of another team?

D-listers or not, DC owns the name.

Personally, I think it's an interesting title for a team book. A title that isn't simply the name of the character or characters adds something... sophistication, maybe? I dunno. But it adds something. I can't articulate it until my coffee kicks in. :coffee:

A title like "Model By Day" instead of the main character's name ("Lady X" in this case) is what I'm talking about.
