Just saw the big screen adaption of Stephen Kings masterpiece It; Not bad.
I would give it a higher rating than the made for TV miniseries. Skarsgaard was excellent as the titular baddie Pennywise, possibly surpassing Tim Curry's take on the character. The overall cast was pitch perfect as well. I haven't read the book myself but the guy sitting next to me said it cut out a lot from the story.
I would give it 7 out of 10 stars.

Did it seem to set up a sequel where they are all adults? The book was a time-shifted flashback novel where the kids are fighting the evil and also as adults they are reconvening because the evil has returned. Is this one just the kid story, leaving an adult era sequel out there?

Safe to say the sequel is going to get made. I'll see it but the best part of the story was when they were kids.

Already the highest-grossing film adaptation of a Stephen King work.

We had numerous sights of scary clowns around these parts over a year ago, where did they all go?
If you love scary clowns and loved IT, don't miss this season of American Horror Story, tons of clowns!

Given IT's blockbuster performance, and the fact that there are several King adaptations in the works, here are the ones that I think could duplicate the success of IT.
FIRESTARTER It's got a focus on a kid, it's got superpowers...slam dunk.
DOCTOR SLEEP For the nostalgia kick, you can market it as a sequel to The Shining. They should just give Christopher Nolan whatever money he wants to adapt it.
THE GIRL WHO LOVED TOM GORDON This would be entirely up to the casting, and the director, since it's a survival story of a little girl lost in the woods.
THE TALISMAN I've never actually read this one. Something about Peter Straub kept me away, but I've read about the adaptation that Spielberg was going to do, and it sounded right up his alley.

I think a remake of the Dead Zone would be well-received.

The Talisman is excellent. I'm not sure it'd be a great movie, maybe more of a mini-series for TV, but it was a great read.
