Great interview. I love behind-the-scenes stuff. While I'm sure there's another side to the issue, Shooter comes off as being pretty honest. I think one of the things that probably hurt Shooter in his dealings with creative people (Marvel, Valiant, etc) is the fact that he comes off as being pretty blunt. I don't think he's mean-spirited, just matter-of-fact blunt. He doesn't come off as an ass-kisser.

I never read any of the Valiant stuff, but the interview is great.

With the history he's had in the business, Shooter should write a memoir. I'd buy it.

I would love to have a sit down with him and see how similar our experiences were. I remember reading one interview where he described his last day and the way he described "he who shall remain nameless" made me believe he was definitely telling the truth.

I'm glad he's getting to work with his old Valiant characters again. God, what an awful story. That's such a shame. I really like Shooter. He just comes across as a decent guy who just wants to do a good job.

Never really chatted with him but he definitely comes across as honest.

Apart from his plans to turn Hank Pym into a villain, I have always liked Jim Shooter.
And that was an interesting article to read.

I look forward to buying another series of Magnus.

I just wish that somehow that Dark Horse also had the rights to the Gold Key name.
That would be great to see that name and image on the comic covers again. Plus,
it would be a great way to brand/group these characters in their relaunch.

But even I will admit that turning Hank Pym was an interesting idea. It's just that to do
something like that you'd have to destroy someone's favorite character. But, back then,
a hero becoming a villain would have been pretty novel.

And Hank could make a serious bad ass/

Yes that would be very cool and add some nostalgia points, especially with the right retro packaging.
