Hey, there peeps! I just wanted to let you know that one of my favorite films from my country is going to be released on April, 16th in the US.

It's a terrific thriller set in the 1970's and 1990's. It was this year's winner of the academy award for best foreign language film.

The director, Juan José Campanella, graduated from NYU and has directed episodes from Law and Order SVU, 30 Rock and House to name a few.

Here's the trailer, I highly recommend it.

Argentina has won Best Foreign Language Film at least once before, in the '80s, I think.

Denmark has won twice, for Babette's Feast in '88 and Pelle the Conqueror in '89.

I've never seen any Argentinian films, only a couple of Costa-Gavras films set in Argentina.

Mostly, they are not very good. But this director is awesome. I love all his films.

Same love, same rain

Son of the Bride (academy award nominee for best foreign language picture in 2001)

Moon of avellaneda.

And this one which is his best so far.
