Right here. :) My, how our little forum has grown. And I remember when it couldn't walk or talk ...

Anyone want a used IMWAN pacifier? It's a collectible.

Well, I'm a Gator fan, but even so, I don't see the trouble in letting in some Hurricanes.

I think Neil was just trying to think of the most over-the top English cliche possible to feed the stereotype.

I mean, you call everybody "Hon" and I think I've caught a "y'all" or two from you and your fellow residents of the southern states.

Us northwesterners, though, we speak with no accents...

my, but 10 000 was a long time ago...

(see that? 10 000 is Canadian for 10,000. No really, it's what I learned in school ;) )

I'm from the Midwest and say "y'all" fairly regularly, I think I picked it up from my Latin teacher who actually uses "y'all" in her teaching because she doesn't like "2nd person (pl)" or "you (pl)", so she just says "y'all", she's also from Tennessee.

I don't like the second person plural, either, thus "y'all".

And whats remarkable about this archaeology that Mary's been digging up is that Linda's about to cross her individual 10,000th post. :)

She can post faster than I can delete.

So she is.

My Latin teacher when she first started teaching used "2nd person (pl)" or "you (pl)" on tests and handouts, but then decided "screw it" and started putting "y'all" on them instead.

In West Virginia, "y'all" is almost universally used. Whenever I tried to address people with "you" as plural, they would get confused, so I started using "y'all."

Don't forget "all y'all"

They say that in Texas, I've been told. Y'all is singular and all y'all is plural.
