Tough one - so many good ones! But ultimately, I vote for "7 men From now", directed by the master, Budd Boetticher!

7 Men From Now.
A Budd Boetticher movie starring Randolph Scott, with Gail Russell & Lee Marvin in significant roles where they both are great.
Written by Burt Kennedy.

I went with Dirty Dozen.

For Darwyn Cooke fans, Point Blank is based on the same novel as the recent Parker graphic novel that Cooke did.

If Lee Remick had married Lee Marvin, she could have called herself "Lee Marvin" too! :)

I know it's not a movie, but the Twilight Zone episode, 'The Grave' was very cool and just creepy enough to make it memorable. It also featured a young Roscoe (from the Dukes of Hazzard). Good stuff!

Cat Ballou was a childhood favorite, they showed it in my grade school film society. It was the first Jane Fonda movie and the first Lee Marvin movie that I ever saw, and probably the first time I heard a Nat King Cole song as well. Wonderful entertainment! But I still haven't seen "Paint Your Wagon", even after all these years, I haven't had the chance. I hope they show it on tv soon.

Maybe Cat Ballou. It was another movie that my Dad had abridged
on Super 8 film. Saw it a lot. Liked it.

Paint Your Wagon is a great choice, too. That is quite well done, and
I tend to like musicals.

:ohyes:
Great episode.

Issue 15 of Cinema Retro is a Lee Marvin tribute. Pretty cool magazine.

Give it a try, I find it entertaining reading. The only thing I don't like about it is the interviews and articles that are spread out over 2-3 issues, particularly because I usually don't buy every issue. I pick it up when there's a featured article I have interest in.

Marvin and Clint Eastwood sang in Paint Your Wagon which is reputed to have been the WORST singing ever in a major musical and contributed to the demise of the Hollywood musical as an art form.

I watched the Dirty Dozen again this week. I have to go with that.

Cat Ballou was a childhood favorite. Nat King Cole and Stubby Kay strolling through the streets singing... you can't beat that.

Lee Marvin's minor hit from Paint Your Wagon was in heavy rotation on my parents' favorite AM station. (Funny that this ultra-conservative radio station that carried Paul Harvey and Al Capp would also feature songs from liberal movies like Paint Your Wagon, The Graduate, and Midnight Cowboy.)

I honestly love the acting by Lee Marvin, John Wayne and James Stewart in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence.

"Monte Walsh," mainly because of William Fraker's cinematography and direction and Cass Elliot's theme song.

Our mayor, who's a big John Wayne fan, quoted from "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" in a meeting once.

I think I've seen that one, Daphne, is that the western with the Cass Elliot song, "The Good Times are Coming"?

Until Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia! In my estimation, the director, out of desperation, finally told Brosnan to just shout the lyrics as loudly as he could.

Grade school film society was really an eclectic mix, and all in 35mm, if I remember right (well, back then I didn't know about 35mm). I also remember seeing "Cotton Comes to Harlem", "Stagecoach", and "Yellow Submarine"!
