Post about the shows or movies that you've recently watched or are watching right now.
I'm currently making my way through the entire run of Veronica Mars. I watched the first 2 1/2 seasons when it was airing, but missed the last half of the final season, so I'm going back and watching the whole thing. Currently half way through season one and I'm surprised at how well it's holding up (given that I know the solutions to the mysteries, as well as the overarching mystery).
Movie-wise, I watched Casino Royale and I've finally stuck it above all of the Connery Bond films. It just works on every level.

I started watching Supernatural Season One last week, but I'm only two episodes into it.
Right before that I did a marathon single day viewing of Veronica Mars Season 3. Mostly I've been catching up on recent television and I really need to catch the last four or five episodes of Breaking Bad.

I get through about three or four one hour episodes in a day, at most. I'll finish season one of Veronica Mars this week. I tend to throw in lighter stuff to avoid burning out. I watched the entire second season of The Spectacular Spider-Man in between VM episodes, and I've been watching some Brave and the Bold as well.

Finally, a "What Are You Reading" thread for the illiterate! So how is Season 3 of Veronica Mars? I quit after Season 2, 'cause I thought it was kind of mediocre (whereas Season 1 is gold). I just finished up watching "The West Wing." I had only seen sporadic episodes before ... now I've seen all seven seasons in their entirety. The Sorkin seasons, all amazing. The post-Sorkin years, not nearly as even but they did some good stuff. Some episodes that were right up there with the Sorkin years, others that were abysmal enough that I will skip them if I ever re-watch the show. But it stayed pretty solid throughout. It helped that they had such an AMAZINGLY talented cast of actors. They invested those characters with such amazing breadth and depth, that they stayed absolutely arresting even through patches of less than impressive writing. I've been re-watching the first season of "Flight of the Conchords." I resisted that show for a long time thinking it sounded like a Tenacious D rehash. The joke was on me; it is actually much much funnier than Tenacious D. Hilarious stuff. I need to seek out Season 2. Movie-wise ... I finally have watched all of the Marx Brothers movies. I'm surprised how much I liked some of the latter-day ones, which are so universally reviled. Even the worst of them has at least one or two bits that still hold up well. (Okay, not the absolute worst of them, which is "Room Service." That one's a complete waste.) I like those guys. My dad's also been forcing me to experience some other black and white comedy ... Charlie Chaplin and W.C. Fields in particular. Still not enamored of either one like I am of the Marx Brothers, but I can still see the appeal.

Season Three has two big mysteries, starting off with the mystery of the Serial Rapist from the college episode from Season Two; then spinning off into a murder mystery. The final four or five episodes don't have an over-arcing plot. I thought this made a marked improvement over the second season, because after the death of her best friend, there really aren't a lot of BIG mysteries for her to be involved in... without killing off major characters.
The only big disappointment I have with the final season is that it continues the arc of Logan as emo-boy, when he should be the Cordelia (or the character that has fun mocking the main characters for the Buffy illiterate).

Well, couldn't Cordelia be the Cordelia? Did they wrap everything up pretty satisfyingly? I seem to recall a couple of big things left open at the end of Season 2 (one involving Charisma Carpenter's character, in fact ...)

They deal with the Charisma Carpenter stuff pretty early on.
As for wrapping everything up... pretty much. There's nothing too major hanging, although all the central characters are in transitional places, especially Weevil. They were planning to skip forward several years to her joining the FBI (there's a short pilot on the DVD with Animal Lover, Adam Baldwin, as her boss), so there's nothing that needs to be resolved in the short-term.

Cool. Maybe I'll check it out. Although I was recently rejected by a girl who looks like Kristen Bell, so I may have to wait until that sting subsides ...

I saw Star Trek the other day. My home movie watching is well documented in the Movie a Day Thread. TV shows I follow regularly: Lost 24 (but only in marathons after the season ends) Chuck Terminator House Heroes
BBC/ITV shows: Spooks The IT Crowd Hustle Hotel Babylon Ashes to Ashes Primeval
The best thing about the UK shows is that they air at random times throughout the year, and are usually just 6-13 episodes.

Mondays are 24 with alot of Heroes to catch up on. Tuesdays is Rescue Me for me, and alot of Reaper for me and the GF to catch up on. Nothing on Wednesdays since Ghost Hunters is done for this season. Thursdays is Smallville & Supernatural, with alot of catch up to do on Bones & CSI by the GF and me. Fridays was mainly my day, but since Dollhouse is over, Batman Brave & the Bold is it. Saturday's is me only with Harpers Island.

I am the worst TV watcher ever. I know this thread seems to be more about DVD season sets or ongoing movie watching projects, but I have none of those.
Current shows that I regularly watch:
The Ultimate Fighter (reality show on Spike where contestants fight for a UFC contract).
Man Caves (DIY Channel -- they renovate basements and garages with a manly theme, like "Pimp My Ride" for mancaves).
NBA Playoffs.
The Office
30 Rock
How I Met Your Mother

My favorite TV thing that is not in season -- football.
Here is my weekly routine:
Thrusday Night -- College Game on ESPN. NFL Game starting about halfway through the season.
Friday Night -- break, usually. Typically one lame college game on or something. Spend time with family, catching up on what they are doing.
Satruday -- college football all day and in prime time.
Sunday -- NFL all day. One game at night on NBC.
Monday -- Monday night football.
Tuesday -- do commissioner work on Fantasy Football league. Talk about results of Fantasy Football.
Wednesday -- set lineup for Fantasy Football teams.
Thursday --- start over.

Probably the best season of its existence, mostly because it finally seems to be ABOUT something rather than just kicking monster ass each week.

The DVR is actually full at my house with shows the GF and I haven't got to watch since the beginning of March(she had to work on her new costume for Scarborough). I even transferred the last few episodes of Terminator to VHS to make more room, I may have to just start deleting again so I don't miss an episode of Harpers Island.

How The Earth Was Made, Tuesdays on the History Channel, is an excellent new science series. Would make for great family viewing, I imagine.

I just finished watching season one of Mad Men and am anxiously awaiting the release of season two on DVD. Awesome show. I'm also looking forward to season three of The Tudors and season four of Weeds. I also need to track down season two of Californication.
I regularly watch Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and Two And A Half Men on Mondays. I'm busy Thursday nights, but I usually try to catch up by the weekend with the new Office, 30 Rock and (lately) Parks and Recreation episodes. I'll occasionally keep the Simpsons and Family Guy on on Sunday nights while I'm working on music. I am addicted to anything involving Rock of Love on VH1 because Bret Michaels is just an absolute train wreck and so are those shows -- I can't look away. All... that... silicon....

There's speculation that Chuck might come back next season for 13 episodes, rather than 22, and that this might be a model that networks start to follow. Watching Veronica Mars, as well as the BBC shows I've seen, I think it'd be a better approach. In the first season of VM, the twists to the overarching mystery that wind up leading to the solution seem to come out of nowhere around episode 18 or 19, after half a dozen or so filler eps (not that they're bad, just wholly unrelated to the main mystery). Chuck has the same problem at times. Shorter, more focused seasons would be a good way to go, I think.
