Mount Fuji. Fujiyama. I ate curry rice at the top. They have a small eatery there for those who make it to the top.

One mountain is enough for me. My brother had to go and also climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

I climbed Thunderhead Mountain, where they are carving the Crazy Horse Memorial. Got right up and touched his face. At the time, they only allowed people to hike up there one day out of the year, and I just happened to have been there at the time.

I didn't know people were EVER allowed to do that.

I got some up-close VHS video of Crazy Horse I should convert over to digital. But yeah, it wasn't a long hike up. There's a State park below, and we marched up around the other side to get up there. Took about an hour maybe, I forget. It was about 25 years ago, so I have no idea what it's like anymore.

I've hiked Frozen Head in Tennessee, which has an elevation of 3,324 feet. I've gone higher than that out west, but I didn't climb to get there.
I've also hiked several ridges in the Ouachitas, some of which were as high as 2,000 feet or so. The steepest climb I've ever done is Pinnacle Mountain near Little Rock. The East Summit Trail there gets about as steep as it can get without changing from a hike to a climb.
One of the things I want to do in the coming year is to get back into hiking in the mountains. My health and other problems have kept me from doing any of that in the past two years.

The WIKI page on Thunderhead says that its only 3,500 feet.
The Bote Mountain Trail, with its trailhead on Little River Road, ascends seven miles (11 km) to the crest of the Smokies and intersects the Appalachian Trail at Spence Field. From Spence Field, it is approximately two miles to the summit of Thunderhead. The Lead Cove Trail, also beginning on Little River Road (near Cades Cove), offers the shortest access to the summit by bypassing the first four miles (6 km) of the Bote Mountain Trail. From the Lead Cove trailhead, it is approximately seven miles to the summit of Thunderhead. The Anthony Creek Trail, rising out of the Cades Cove campground, also bypasses the first four miles (6 km) of the Bote Mountain Trail. From the Anthony Creek trailhead, it is approximately 7.5 miles (12.1 km) to the summit of Thunderhead. ============ So, I'm guessing that I was at Cades Cove campground.

Some years back I camped out in the general area of Cade's Cove with a group of friends and hiked up a mountain there. Wonder which one it was? We didn't go that far, though.

Hiking? Probably Mount Spokane (5889 feet), although that was starting from a campground that was at about 4600 feet. We did that hike the day Mt. Saint Helens erupted, almost 30 years ago. We heard it from there, and we thought it was thunder.
On a bike, I did 5162 feet of elevation gain in a single day, riding from Marblemount to Mazama WA, over Washington Pass.

Interesting, that means the abusive relationship between the uncle and the nephew was established from the get-go.

Helags (5,892 ft) The ninth grade classes in my school go there each spring. In our year, there were only five or six of us who didn't give up on the way up.
