Green Lantern (Ron Marz) - In 1993, DC decided that a radical alteration to one of their primary characters, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, was due. To accomplish this, they hired Ron Marz, who had written a highly successful run of the Silver Surfer at Marvel. In the Emerald Twilight storyline, Hal Jordan was driven mad and became the cosmic villain Parallax, while struggling young graphic artist Kyle Rayner became Green Lantern. Joined by artists like Darryl Banks and Paul Pelletier, Marz's controversial run sparked outrage and debate among new readers and longtime fans alike, and incidentally, great sales. Attachment: match15.jpg Nightwing (Dixon and McDaniel)- After decades as Batman's partner, Robin, and many years as leader of the Teen Titans, Dick Grayson finally achieved his own ongoing series. Helmed by veteran Bat-writer Chuck Dixon and artist Scott McDaniel, the book received critical and sales success, and as the lone hero in corrupt Bludhaven, Nightwing became on e of DC's most popular characters. Nightwing. I loved McDaniel's art on Nightwing (His art took a nosedive since Superman though). Great stories from Dixon, I love that run. Their last issue together was pretty poor though (Nightwing 40 I think)

Like Dixon, like McDaniel. Nightwing=good.
Like Pelletier. Like Marz now, but then? Not so much. He sucked until he got to Crossgen. Never cared for Darryl Banks. Crab Face Guy=meh.
