Once you get to the sinking boat parts it becomes a decent flick.

Yes. And what makes it bearable, is that the sinking boat parts (which really start with the hitting the iceberg part) last for more than an hour!

By the way, Your Holiness, Celine Dion is Canadian. I'd say that means you owe us all an apology of some sort.

When the men start dressing as kids and women—just so they can get lifeboats—
that's my favorite part! And then the Red Indians, Spacemen, and a sort of idealized
version of complete Renaissance Men first!

Oh, wait. That was Monty Python, wasn't it.

Titanic is an unfairly maligned film.

And a pretty damn good one.

Fair enough.

Where's my apology for Hootie and the Blowfish?

The Backstreet Boys?
And all the other pointless bands and performers that have turned music into a pile of watered-down crap?

Awwww. It's no big deal. I didn't say anything about the flying saucer that crashed in to the boat and caused it to sink. So it's all good.

It's a tried and true tradition for some rock/pop stars to try their luck in the country market when the hits dry up.

Still haven't watched it. I know how it ends. I knew how it ends before the movie was even made.

Darin hasn't missed much. I thought it was just okay. Kate Winslett in the nude was the only real highlight of the whole thing for me.

Add in Tom Jones, Dan Seals and Olivia Newton-John to that list (although ONJ was kind of country to begin with).
