Imagine watching the worst episode of "Star Trek" (from the third season or the end of the second where they were running out of money) or "Lost" (one of their weaker episodes) and making a judgment call based on that. For that matter, listening to "You Know My Name" and deciding THAT was everything you needed to know about The Beatles. Seriously, you need to widen your gaze a bit before condemning something based on a single experience.

You could tell by watching one episode what the series was about and that was by design. Some of the concept elements didn't make sense, even within the superhero genre. The guy drinks a potion to become a superhero... the transformation had a Shazam! effect of thunder and smoke and it somehow gave him a costume. The change happened as soon as he drank the potion... not as soon as he digested it. All of this would have been fine is the character was based upon magic, but it wasn't. It was based on psuedo-science... which still has to have some logic to it in order to work as a device.

Any Super Hero played by one of my TV heroes, Dr. Mark Craig, is OK with me. So, there!
I remember watching it as a kid. Being raised on Adventures of Superman this left me wanting more. Actually, it left me wanting NBC to hire me to show them how to do it right. And I had that thought long before I ever head of JB.

While it's certainly not a brilliant TV show I have fond memories of it as a kid. Certainly better than "Mr. Terrific". Anything with William Daniels in it no matter how good or bad gets a from me. Heck, I'd even consider "Knightrider".

I thought Nut Boy was Vegetarian Man's sidekick.
