(Believe it or not, this matchup, like all others, was completely random!) Omega Men- After appearing in several other DCU books, including Green Lantern and The New Teen Titans, this ragtag group of alien heroes (who teamed up to overthrow the warlords who had conquered their homeworlds) received their own series. Full of unexpected twists and turns, this series provided a fascinating tale of outer-space adventure in the DCU. This is also the series which introduced the alien mercenary Lobo upon unsuspecting Comicland. Attachment: match13.jpg Atari Force- When DC created a line of mini-comics to be packed into some of Atari's most popular games, they set the stage for a tremendous science-fiction tale. Gerry Conway stepped outside of his usual superhero fare and teamed with Jose-Luis Garcia-Lopez to create a series set 25 years after those mini-comics, with a compelling story, fascinating characters and beautiful artwork. Mike Baron, Ross Andru, and Eduardo Barreto also contributed to the series over its run. Attachment: match14.jpg

I only read the first few issues of Omega Men and it didn't grab me. Atari Force, though...that was excellent. I picked up issue 1 on a whim and I was hooked. It's probably been over 15 years since I last read it, but it was really an excellent sci-fi series. I think if it hadn't been released with the Atari name, it would have been more successful.
