My brother gave me a present, a pair of Timberland shoes, leather uppers, rubber soles. Best pair of shoes I've ever had. I never owned a pair of Doc Martens, but I seriously doubt they can beat Timberland for protection and comfort.

I have a great deal of trouble finding shoes that fit. I bought some Privo shoes (a sub brand of Clarke) for Frank's funeral. They are amazingly lightweight, something that Clarke is NOT known for, and as comfortable as can be expected for something that encloses toes and grabs heels.

I may have to check out those Timberlands. I need some sturdy shoes.

I wear sneakers 98% of the time. Usually Reeboks. Beyond that I keep my shoe wardrobe to a minimum. My sneakers don't last long because I'm not nice to them, but dress shoes will last me for years and years.

The best parachute I ever had? An Enerjet 24-inch silk parachute. True hemispherical shape (not a parasheet like most rockets use). Sewn spill hole. White and red alternating gores. A beauty.

Oh...."Pair of shoes." Sorry, but I have a cold.

You and I are pretty much the same, DL. Sneakers are the most comfy for me and I do tend to wear them out pretty quickly. :ohyes:

Brotoro has now answered the classic question "What color is your parachute?"

New Balance 609 sneakers. I'll haven't bought another brand since I got my first pair 20 some years ago. (although I don't remember if the had the 609 label on them back then.)

I've been wearing New Balance shoes since 1982. In the last decade or so I went with the all-black variety (the 609 or its predecessor) so that people who aren't paying attention can mistaken them for normal shoes.

They also kees my staff from hearing me when I'm going around the building, seeing what's happening.

That's good. Then you can really check up on them. :ohyes:

Of course, if I were one of your staff then I wouldn't think it was so great. But I'm not...so it's a great thing.
:ohyes: :yay:

Um, then, you might wanna spring for a new pair then, Herr Brotoro. I think 27 years is too long to wear the same pair of shoes. Just a thought.

I think I'm on my sixth pair of Brooks Addictions. Appropriate name.

They're very kind to my flat feet.

My pair of brown flip-flops. I live in them. My feet were made for flip-flops 'cause you could fit another toe in between my big one and the next with the gap there. My Docs run a close second, though.

Carlos Santana wears white clogs on the back cover of the trippy hippy album "Love Devotion Surrender".
