I don't think its new news that Neil Gaiman and Andy Kubert are working on an upcoming Batman story. Has anyone posted art yet? If so, delete this thread. If not... (from Neil's website http://journal.neilgaiman.com/)

For the uninformed... in February, Batman gets his big send-off, courtesy of Neil Gaiman and Andy Kubert with the two part “Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?” told between Batman #686 and Detective Comics #853. More info: http://www.newsarama.com/comics/120822- ... atman.html

What's with the retro (Silver Age?) costumes on Batsy and Catsy?

Something to with them killing Batman in Final Crisis (and Batman RIP), and there's to be a Battle for the Cowl. From the house ads, it looks like there will be all these different versions competing in some way to be Batman. Kind of like Azrael meets Death of Superman. One of them in the latest house ad looks like that costume to me.

I have no idea where this Gaiman Kubert story fits in to anything, but I will be per-CHAYSing it.

Is anyone else surprised by this ... like, jeez, Gaiman, you STILL haven't exorcised Moore from your system?

Man....things are complicated! They can't just have one guy being the super guy anymore, can they? The big two always have to milk that cash cow! First it was the Clone Saga, then it was the various replacement Superman in the wake of Supes' "death", now it's a Battle for the cowl.... :|

Power Girl's boobs haven't been made smaller by the Crisis, have they? Please tell me they haven't changed those....*choke*

They've been made bigger.

Also, Asian.

Well, at least they're not smaller. Thanks for clearing that up, Hanzo! :)

I have no idea. They're not nude, so I don't see the problem.

I'm assuming, perhaps wrongly, that DC approached him about doing this.

Anyway, I'll check this out, but I'm not particularly looking forward to it. I like Gaiman's work a lot, but I'm not overly interested in seeing him work on old standbys like Batman.

That art is pretty damn great looking.

that art is fantastic, and again shows how far a certain creator has fallen by the wayside. compare that, for instance with the pages from 'Crew'.
