Ok. Now I am about to become the proud owner of the above page! I just got confirmation from Bob McLeod about the page, and I'm just waiting on Paypal to finish it. I'm very excited, because this will be my first ever original art page from a comic. Three of the four features are really hot for me.
As some of you may have noticed... the Golden Age Flash is my favorite character. I think Kurt Anderson asked me why he was. I think it's because, for his time, Jay Garrick was a truly unique character in design and personality. He was an adventurer more than a superhero. He did it for the joy. Well, now I get a page for the joy.
Second, Jerry Ordway is one of my all-time favorite artists. His run on Infinity, Inc., and the two Superman titles he did, and then on to his Power of Shazam series just kept me going for years! And then he did my favorite comic in about 10 years. B&B #13!!!
Finally, Bob McLeod, who I am buying the page from inked it! I first fell in love with his art when he drew the first New Mutants story. I've been in correspondence with him for about a year now. He offers suggestions about how to improve things (like perspective and such), and is just a genuinely nice guy.
The last feature is just Batman being the guy he is in that story. Not perfect, and willing to back down to the experienced chemist. Very cool.
